About Our Church

New Lyme Baptist Church is a local congregation centered on God's Word, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, prayer, worship, and fellowship. Whether you have followed Christ for years or are beginning to ask questions, you are welcome to visit.

Our Faith

What We Believe

These core convictions shape our worship, our community, and our life together.

01

Scripture

We believe the Bible, consisting of 66 books making up the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired, inerrant Word of God, the supreme authority for faith and practice, and the only complete revelation from God to man.

02

The Godhead

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in nature and glory, yet distinct in role.

03

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man, born of the Virgin Mary, who lived a sinless life, died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice, rose bodily on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return personally to judge the world.

04

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, indwells them, and empowers them for service.

05

Salvation

We believe salvation is entirely God's gift, received by grace through personal faith in Jesus Christ, apart from human works, and is evidenced by a life of holiness.

06

The Church

We believe that Jesus is currently building His church and will return at any moment to rapture the church, the Bride of Christ, to be with Him for all of eternity. Further, we believe that it is the responsibility of every believer to unite with a local church where they can use their spiritual gifts to build up the body of believers.

07

Christian Life and Hope

We believe believers are called to live in obedience to Christ, in love and unity, and to look forward to His glorious return.
